The Biden presidency sure has started off with a bang. We're not far out from the first hundred days of what I call the "asterisk administration" and we've had all sorts of wonderful things happen. Let's explore just a few gems from the last few months, shall we?
We've had a major terrorist attack in Afghanistan targeting a girls' school and killing over fifty people, mostly kids. This is one of the largest such attack in years. Most terrorist activity in the last few years (since 2016, coincidentally!) have involved ISIS- now a waning force in central Asia. Unfortunately, Biden saw fit to ignore the agreed-upon May 1st withdrawal deadline that the USA, Taliban, and Afghan government agreed to- a deal brokered by Pompeo and Trump. That the Taliban has more technical power than the government there appears to be an issue which each Apparatchik that Biden commands, prefers to ignore.
The Biden economy appears to be kicking in since the April jobs numbers were so bad unemployment actually rose for the first time in a year. True, lingering damage is more related to blue state lockdowns than federal policy, but Biden continues to ignore the issue of the absolute necessity of returning to normal. Inflation has taken hold, although nobody seems to realize it yet.
All chance of peace breaking out on the Korean Peninsula seems dead at least for the foreseeable future, given that Joe Biden apparently does not understand how one should respond to Kim Jong Un when he makes threats- he takes a typical cold war era politicians' attitude; something avoided by Trump, who has done brisk business in Asia and still owns property in several nations there. The South Koreans intend to try and stoke up more peace dialogue but in the absence of a coherent American policy, like as not Washington will just antagonize Pyongyang over and over just like we saw in the 2010s.
Israelis and Palestinians are once again fighting one another in Jerusalem. We can't blame Joe Biden- or even US policy- in any direct sense for the current round of violence spurred mainly by the expansion of Jewish settlements in East Jerusalem, but I don't have great optimism that the situation is improved by having Biden in office. Indeed, the Democratic Party is split down the middle between those who unequivocally back Israeli policy (often for religious reasons) and those who revile it as an apartheid state and at least privately back the BDS movement.
The border crisis is ongoing and unabated, and now even some Democrats are beginning to complain. I can't even begin to imagine how many emails and letters the poor bastards have gotten over the last few months.
Oh yeah, and hackers managed to disable a major US oil pipeline, forcing the US government to free up strategic reserves to prevent economic havoc. Predictably, the Russian state is being blamed by the legacy media, even though the initial report on the ransomware attack involved merely claims that the group responsible was based in Russia. Putin, it seems, is individually responsible for each person in the geographic extent of Mother Russia.
Keep in mind that whenever anything went wrong while Donald Trump was in office, it was widely reported on. We aren't simply missing issues from when he was in office- there simply were considerably fewer issues with the exception of the coronavirus pandemic.
The legacy media persists in claiming Joe Biden is well above 50% in approval. I submit that the only way this is possible, absent push polling, is corporate propaganda on a mass scale- one which no patriotic citizen should condone.
The next four years are going to be rough. I knew Biden would be bad but dude has exceeded expectations. He is still proposing and doubling down on his inflation inducing policies. In fact he used the weak jobs number as an excuse to go forward with his plan instead of rethinking it. A infrastructure bill (that's not infrastructure) and family plan that costs 4 trillion. 4 Trillion! Even if past we'll get no meaning infrastructure just wasteful spending. The "family plan" further incentives the destruction of the nuclear family. It incentives mothers to be wage slaves and encourages single motherhood.
C'mon man!
