Oh how I long for the laconic days when the biggest national scandals Americans had to grapple with involved Donald Trump saying mean things to foreign dignitaries on Twitter!
In the wake of what has become the unmitigated disaster of a withdrawal in Afghanistan (one easily avoidable had Joe Bidens advisors not sought to block Trump from claiming he was the man who ended the war in Afghanistan) the United States has returned to a time-tested tendency; reprisal via drone strike which does not particularly discriminate between enemy combatant and civilians near them. This is probably why ISIS and similar groups use human shields; their deaths are more meaningful if they lend themselves to propaganda. Something no US administration seems to have yet been able to grasp. Indeed, the supermajority of all drone strike casualties have been non-combatants, for years and years now running.
So when Joe Biden okayed a drone strike the other day that vaporized several children in "retaliation" for terrorist attacks on the Kabul airport which he practically invited by his own actions, I was dismayed but not surprised.
Keep in mind that this report comes from CNN. Yes, even the DNC's own mouthpiece is reporting this incident. That probably bothers Joe Biden, since normally they prefer to report on which ice cream flavor he recently ingested.
And make no mistake, this will not be the end of drone war in Afghanistan; while he hastily did everything he could to deny Trump the moniker of "president who ended Americas' longest war" (a moniker which would not be accurate anyways since we have been at war with North Korea since 1950) Biden has now set the stage for a more quiet war to continue unabated for whatever indefinite period is needed before America gets better leadership- a war waged from the skies by robots, with casualty counts the government will likely cover up to the best of its ability, all to label Biden a "strong but peaceful" man.
Corruption never attracts quality people, only more corrupt people .
Stolen Elections matter.
Hey Styx, just wanted to ask if you noticed/cottoned onto this: when Joe was initally denying responsibility to the, at the time hypothetical, takeover of Afghanistan by the Taliban, he responded with asking whether or not he should act to every human rights crisis on earth with the specific crisis he references being the Uygher genocide currently being enacted by China.
I'm asking because, IIRC, this would be one of if not the only time that the democrats/the white house have ever actually acknowledged the situation of the Uyghers.
(Also the hilarious irony of him saying this to justify that America shouldn't go in and stop it would be hilarious if it weren't so fucked, considering that if you reverse the clock 80 years and replace 'Chinese' and 'Uyghur' with 'German' and 'Jew' every person would answer that hypothetical with a resounding yes.)
