Funny how most folks never refer to VT's crime stats during all the baseless anti-gun arguments. Vermont, as well as nearby Maine and New Hampshire are the safest states in the union despite what would be called "lax" gun laws. Why is that? The answer is in demographics. Those three states are some of the Whitest in the nation and it is not a coincidence that they are also the safest. The worst areas for gun violence in America just so happen to have low White populations. The issue isn't the availability of guns or "lax" gun laws, it is demographic.
